Puppy on a Cushion — bronze sculpture

A small dog sits on a round, softly folded cushion, head tilted and tongue out in a wide grin — one ear pricked up, the other flopping down. The form is simplified and almost illustrative, with a deliberately oversized head and large paws, which gives the figure the warmth of a toy while the execution remains fully sculptural. The piece is handmade: cast in bronze, then hand-worked and hand-patinated.

This is handcrafted work in which contrast defines the character — the warm golden patina of the coat is set against the deep matt black of the cushion, the nose and the drooping ear. The patina is applied by hand in layers, so the shades of gold and the distribution of the darker areas differ on every casting. The compact upright form is stable and needs no additional base, making it easy to display on a desk, shelf, sideboard or in a child's room.
