The Handshake — bronze sculpture on a white base

Two slender figures stand on either side of a white, gently curved plane and reach out towards each other until their hands meet. One stands securely on the edge, the other reaches in from outside — the gesture reads at once as help, as greeting and as invitation. The wide-open arms form a clear horizontal line that holds the whole composition together. The sculpture is handmade: cast in bronze, then hand-worked and patinated to a dark, almost black finish.
