The Owl — bronze sculpture

The silhouette of an owl reduced to a single smooth, elongated volume: no feathers, no wings, no unnecessary detail. All that remains are two large round eyes and a softly indicated beak, with the whole form resting on an irregular, rough base suggesting a branch or a stone. That contrast — the polished body against the raw ground — gives the figure its concentration and a quiet air of mystery. The sculpture is handmade: cast in bronze, then hand-ground and patinated to a deep graphite black.
